Just a quick update on what’s been happening, and what I’ve got planned for the rest of the year.
There won’t be a chapter of Laymen in March. This is because I’m working on something for my wife! It’s an annual tradition where she bakes me something for Valentine’s Day, and I write her something for White Day. What I’ve got for her is very, very cool, but you’ll never read it. Sorry!
Laymen will return in April for Chapter 8, and we’re into the final stretch. The overarching plot is due to end in Chapter 10 (June) and will include an epilogue to tie some things up. But July and August will include bumper bonus chapters I’ve been thinking of as a ‘victory lap’. Expect many familiar faces and a lot of action!
After that… I don’t really have any ideas for monthly storytelling. If I’m inspired by standalone shorts, I may do that. But I don’t have anything planned.
I’m going to be trying to get Lonely Ship 7 drafted this year, hopefully for a release around Christmas. It’s the last book in the series, so it’s a big deal. I may be glad of some dedicated time to get it polished.
I’ll also want to do a full review of Lonely Ship before the last book hits shelves. Third edition will tighten some narrative and edit out some errors ahead of the story being complete. Honestly, I’m looking forward to it!
And that’s all the planning I’ve gotten done. In the real world, my daughter is growing up, and my job has become very unstable. Long-term planning is getting trickier. But I’ll try to stay on top of writing too. I’m having a blast, and I won’t be stopping unless I absolutely have to.
That’s it. See you all later. Take care!
